Fires Surround Bella Coola

The main road into Bella Coola , Route 20, has been closed since Friday due to wildfires. Since then, fires have been breaking out in Hagensburg and Bella Coola. This is the fire behind the house -

The fires whipped through the clearcut section in about an hour.

We've been watching it grow in every direction.

Even after three days of dropping water down valley, the fires just gets worse. People have been ordered to evacuate.

It's been a difficult week - watching the fires grow - waiting and hoping for anything to make this stop.
The water dropping tanker planes haven't been here yet but we're hoping maybe today.

The New Pup

Ready for Winter

Just finished the live roof in time for the winter. There is 5 - 6 inches of moss on the roof which slows water run-off & helps keep the heat in.

It's been raining for a month, but the cabin is warm and dry with a wood-stove donated from a friend.

More Hot Springs

This Hot Springs Tub is long enough to swim across. The water temperature is completely adjustable and only takes minutes to completely heat up or cool down. The trail is easy and beautiful.

Wharf Life

Wilderness Cabin

It only took a little cleaning to get this cabin in living condition. The place is all set up for hydro-electric power and propane. The hydro runs by a nearby creek and all the propane appliances tap into a regular BBQ tank. It shouldn't take much to have hot showers, a cool refrigerator, oven, stove and regular household power.
Way out here.


The upstairs has an incredible view, but you'll just have to take our word for it.
