Rainy Season 2007

After 2 days & nights of intense rain, the river in the backyard blew open the dam. Water has been shooting into the yard all day Sunday. It has since gone down, but water is still in the yard & running into the road.
Yes. We still love it here.

Been Too Nice to Blog..

Sorry we've neglected posting on the blog,
but how can anyone stay inside when
it's sailing weather & we're
out at the inland passage, or
down at the Pacific Coast islands.

To The Hot Springs

The worn trailhead to the hot springs was a welcome sight.

This is the smaller of the two tubs. It overlooks an island and fed from the outspout of the larger tub. It's still pretty hot, just not as deep.

The bigger, interior tub.

This was blasted into the rocks. The water is deep enough to come up to my chest (while sitting). If you can make it out, there is a black hose that adds cool water from a nearby spring. It feels around 100 degrees F. The high amount of minerals add to the water's blue hue. My skin felt slick afterwards & I was glad I brought shoes.

Warm Enough to Sail

Here's a picture of our new investment: a sailboat to charter within the Great Bear rainforest inline waterways. We started the company paperwork, and we have insurance brokers drooling to be our new evil friends. Pictured here are our current, non-evil friends.

While Getting Dressed..

Sunday, this Pine Marten was peering through the window.
He (?)'s has been running around here since last summer. These cridders eat mice, so we encourage them. Martens feed mainly in old growth forrest areas, but we've caught him eating the cat food in the garage.

Snows Dump 3-4ft. per storm

There's a car under the crushed metal roof. Put it on the tab. It's been a very expensive winter.
